What do you like eating for breakfast? For the last couple of months, I have been enjoying smoothies for breakfast. You may recall this Purple Breakfast Smoothie I posted. I have been trying to come up with different types of smoothies so I won’t get bored.
Enter this Berry Banana Smoothie. This smoothie is filling and loaded with fruits and veggies. It is perfectly sweet without any addition of extra sugar (just the natural sugars from the fruits).
I love how portable smoothies are! If I am running late in the morning I can just pour it in a plastic cup and take it with me. I don’t need to worry about making poor breakfast choices when I have a smoothie in hand!
Berry Banana Smoothie
Don’t be afraid of the spinach in this smoothie. You really can’t taste it (I wouldn’t lie to you)! It adds great nutrition to your smoothie. This smoothie makes 1 large cup or 2 medium cups.
- ½ cup milk of choice (I use almond)
- ¼ cup pomegranate juice
- 1 tablespoon flax seed or flax meal
- 2 handfuls spinach
- 1 banana
- ½ cup blueberries
- ½ cup strawberries
- Place all ingredients in blender in the order listed. Blend until smooth and desired consistency is reached.
